Destin, Florida’s band Heritage will be the featured performers of WSRE’s StudioAmped concert series on Friday, January 21 at 7 p.m. In 2007, three guys with a ukulele and a set of bongos played just for fun in a backyard for family and friends. Before they knew it, they were performing in local venues. Described as a mix of a Reggae feel, an Island Rock vibe, Funk and R&B, Heritage rose from the backyards of Okaloosa County and broke into the pop/reggae scene in 2009 with their debut album, “Natural High.” This album mixes easily-digested vocals with the fluidity of a vibrant ukulele sound to produce an effort bursting at the seams with ultra-catchy originals. Heritage includes Tony Verrecchia, lead vocals; Hunter Dawson, lead guitar; Damien Kealoha, ukulele; Matt Moore, bass, Dave Posey, percussion; and Rosendo Hernandez, drums. Heritage is sharing their passion and love for music on the Gulf Coast, gaining ground quickly throughout the US and beyond.
